Telpo has released a contactless AI biometric facial recognition temperature screening terminal for multi-person simultaneous detection and fast identification, the company announced.

The TPS980T Pro can process three to four simultaneous screenings by combining body and portrait recognition with infrared and visible light double-sensor technology. When it detects abnormal temperatures, an alarm goes off to inform staff. Leveraging infrared thermography and AI, the terminal performs mask detection. The terminal works at a range of up to 2 meters.

Telpo has a wide product portfolio that can offer, depending on user case and data privacy requirements, including AI temperature screening terminal, Telpo cloud platform, and Telpo middleware or SDK. Telpo also provides attendance management, personnel management, personnel health report, equipment management and data statistics, which can be rolled out to help contain COVID-19 in communities, parks, enterprises and schools.

Telpo has launched a series of new touch-free terminals integrating capabilities such as temperature checking and payment processing to biometric systems.

Meridian releases contactless biometric-enabled kiosk with temperature screening

Once coronavirus restrictions are lifted, users will likely remain cautious and prefer contactless solutions, while companies will consider adding temperatures detectors such as contactless kiosks to control visitor access, writes Kiosk Marketplace.

Meridian is pitching its contactless biometric-enabled check-in and temperature verification system as a solution to meet this demand.

“The majority of the inquiries we have received as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic have been more interested in temperature verification and facial recognition rather than more traditional check-in capabilities,” Chris Gilder, Meridian CEO and founder, told Kiosk Marketplace.

If the kiosk is in guest mode, people without abnormal temperatures can enter the building, while recognition mode only allows access to visitors it identifies. When visitors pass the temperature and biometric facial recognition checks, a green LED light at the top of the kiosk appears, while an alarm is triggered when fever is detected. The system uses infrared technology to capture and analyze facial features. In 15 to 30 seconds users can register their information and have their picture taken.

The Personnel Management Kiosk is the first system developed by Meridian to include contactless temperature verification capabilities. It can be plugged into a LAN, connect to Wi-Fi, and supports MiFare contactless cards. The system has not yet been HIPAA validated.
